Traveling for EMDR Therapy Intensives in the Midwest

1–3 day intensive trauma therapy in charming downtown Angola, Indiana

Mindbody Counseling & Wellness Center offers 1–3 day EMDR therapy intensives in charming downtown Angola, Indiana for adults seeking focused trauma therapy, PTSD support, anxiety support, stress recovery, and nervous system regulation.

For some clients, weekly therapy is not the most practical or effective format for deeper trauma processing. A therapy intensive allows for more time, continuity, preparation, EMDR processing, nervous system support, and integration in a concentrated setting.

Because intensives are scheduled over 1–3 days, clients may choose to travel to Angola from other parts of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and the broader Midwest.

Why travel for an EMDR therapy intensive?

Traveling for an EMDR therapy intensive can make sense when you want focused, in-person therapy but do not live close enough for weekly appointments.

Instead of trying to fit deeper work into a standard weekly session, an intensive creates a longer therapeutic container. This allows time to arrive, settle in, prepare, process, pause, regulate, integrate, and return home with support.

For clients traveling from larger cities, Angola can offer a quieter, more contained setting for deep therapeutic work away from the pace and demands of everyday life.

A destination therapy intensive in Indiana’s lake country

Mindbody Counseling & Wellness Center is located in downtown Angola, Indiana, in Steuben County — known as the Home of 101 Lakes. Clients traveling for an intensive may choose to stay nearby in a hotel, inn, or lake-area rental while completing their work.

The goal is not to turn therapy into a vacation. The goal is to create a supportive rhythm: arrive, settle in, do the work, rest, integrate, and return home with more clarity and support.

What happens during an EMDR therapy intensive?

Each intensive is shaped around your goals, clinical needs, and readiness. EMDR processing may be combined with preparation, resourcing, parts work, somatic awareness, grounding, imagery, sandtray, hypnosis, or integration work when clinically appropriate.

We will begin with a consultation to determine whether an intensive is the right fit, what you are hoping to work on, and what length of intensive may be most supportive.

Who is a good fit for a travel-based intensive?

A travel-based EMDR therapy intensive may be a good fit if you are ready to focus on a specific issue, memory, pattern, or season of life and want a more concentrated therapy experience than weekly sessions can provide.

It may not be the right fit if you are currently in acute crisis, feeling unsafe, highly unstable, or needing a higher level of care. We will assess readiness together before scheduling.
